Geneva – SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties is honored to announce that it has officially obtained consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
This achievement marks the culmination of sustained efforts by SAM’s team in Geneva, along with the remarkable sacrifices made by the organization’s members and collaborators in Yemen under complex and challenging circumstances. It also reflects the support of a broad network of advocates and human rights partners around the world who believed in the organization’s mission and objectives.
Obtaining consultative status with ECOSOC represents a pivotal step in the organization’s journey, as it enables active participation in United Nations sessions, submission of official reports and statements, and contribution to shaping international human rights policies—especially those addressing grave violations in Yemen and the Arab region.
On this occasion, SAM extends its heartfelt thanks to all who supported and stood by it, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to documenting and exposing violations, defending victims, and promoting a culture of rights and freedoms in communities suffering from conflict and oppression.
We believe that this step offers a new platform to expand the organization’s impact and amplify the voices of victims in international forums. We pledge to continue working with independence and professionalism in the pursuit of dignity and justice.
